Cinema Roma
Cinema Roma located 150 meters from Crystal hotel, built in 1937 as the Cinema Excelsior. The facade is decorated with precious marble. It was named Cinema Roma during the Italian occupation of Eritrea.
Asmara Opera Building
This Opeta House is only 200 meters frou Crystal hotel. It is know as Asmara's Opera (Teatro Asmara in Italian) is an opera theater in Asmara, Eritrea. It was constructed in 1918 following a design by the Italian architect Odoardo Cavagnari, with later renovations in 1936.
The Fiat Tagliero Building
Located 750 meters from our Crystal Hotel, built in 1939. The Fiat Tagliero Building in Asmara, capital city of Eritrea, is a Futurist-style service station completed in 1938 and designed by the Italian engineer Giuseppe Pettazzi. When Italian architect Giuseppe Pettazzi inaugurated Eritrea’s plane-shaped Fiat Tagliero service station in 1938, he stunned onlookers by pulling out a gun. There, the story behind Africa’s finest piece of Futurist architecture goes hazy. In one version, Pettazzi stood defiantly on one of his 18m concrete “wings”—used as decorative shades for cars entering the garage—and threatened to kill himself should the structure collapse as wooden supports were pulled away.
Al Kulafah Al Rashidan Mosque
Al Rashidan Mosque is located 600 meters form Crystal hotel. The Great Mosque of Asmara Italian: Grande Moschea di Asmara; alternately known as Al Kulafah Al Rashidan, Al Kulafah Al Rashidin, Al Kuaka Al Rashidin or Al Khulafa Al Rashiudin; Arabic: جَـامِـع الْـخُـلَـفَـاء الـرَّاشِـدِيْـن, which means "Mosque of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs" is a mosque located in the center of Asmara, Eritrea. It is considered to be one of the three prominent edifices of the city, along with Church of Our Lady of the Rosary and Enda Mariam Coptic Cathedral. Designed by Guido Ferrazza, it was built in 1938 on the initiative of Benito Mussolini
